First of all, we love that this ferret's name is an alliteration. Florence the ferret sounds like a princess name in a kids' show, and we're all rooting for this.
Second of all, let her be people-y as much as she wants! She's already a pet, she already lives in your house, and she's named like a human. But Florence the person doesn't sound as wholesome… it just sounds like a robot trying to do a “How do you do, fellow kids?” to humanity.
Florence the ferret, we love you. You may think you're a person as much as you want.
